[this is actually a response I wrote to someone's bulletin; however I want all to read it...]
No way. DON'T promote this story.
Look, THEY look HARD for this. These stories aren't "normal" they're exaggeration. It's part of the 20-Year Plan. They want people to fear the internet right now.
They try to find an anomoly and make it sound common--they want the People to fear the Internet, so no communication between us happens.
There was a huge rush of stories about "internet addiction" years ago I wrote about for Maximum PC when I was still Net Sensei: who invented the term? The same people selling the books, drugs, and therapy to get off it.
They invented the "disease" to make a buck. There is NO such thing. If you play golf all day they call it a "hobby". Why is there no "golf addiction", hmm?
In it somewhere (I can't find the story) is about how easy it is to lie about your identity to seduce someone. I added to their bullshit researched 'internet bad' crap something to affect of:
"I went to a bar last night and this dude didn't wear his marriage ring and told me he was single, said he was a CEO and he's a janitor, said he drove a new BMW and I followed him outside--it's an El Camino. WHAT is the difference?!?! HOW does the internet make lying 'easier'?!"
Not like I was interested anyway. He was obviously a creep. They're as obvious to me online as well.
No, for real. Lying is lying; a liar's gonna lie no matter medium they work in. DON'T BLAME THE INTERNET.
The evil amongst the Republicans (I don't take sides; but this is actually in the ..ed New World Order 20-Year Plan) want the public to think the internet (the only medium of expression they can't own) is evil.
DON'T promote this story; it's absolutely spin-doctor bullshit. I used to work journalism; I know it when I see it.
The parents were neglectful; however they're using the spin given already to excuse themselves. DON'T BLAME THE INTERNET. It's just a tool.
The assholes want it shut down--don't allow it. Cancel your RoadRunner--they're the worst for this. Free lines and free communication for all--do NOT allow these assholes to tell you they're protecting you: they ARE NOT. Support open line access--honestly, people like Disney/AOL/Time Warner/Roadrunner (DON'T forget it!) are trying to monopolize and own the content, lines, service, all of it.
Said "company" is in Bush's top ten contributors. DON'T forget it.
PS: Working on David Van Os's campaign, I had to deal with this, directly.
Abbott's "internet sex crime unit": BULLSHIT!!!
They want MySpace shut down, bad, and use all the excuses in the world for it that seem okay on surface, but it's really they just don't want normal people talking to each other.
Communication is their enemy.
Like, would the same creep act out on his intentions if an ADULT posing as a child hadn't convinced him to do so?!
Did the ADULT with full pyschology knowledge make him do something he wouldn't have, if not for the ADULT twisting of logic and language?!
Yeah, the dude's probably a creep; but I also don't think he'd have ACTED on his thought, except by clever entrapment by someone NOT A CHILD.
I think about killing certain people all the time; I don't do it. I wouldn't. You mean to say that if someone BRAINWASHES me into acting on it, I'm now a criminal?!
Call me weird--but I don't think this entrapment is fair, unless you use children and in their own words (not ones you fed them). Abbott's still an asshole and a hipocrite.
CNN, Hillary, and Edwards Decide For Us What We Think
Even if Dennis ain't your pick, this isn't fair to any of the candidates, no matter what. Ugly reporting; and shame on the arrogant few running who have deemed themselves God.
This was sent by Dennis Kucinich via MySpace bulletin; he asked what we thought of it. Oh, you're gonna hear me... but watch it yourself:
My response:
No, I hadn't seen it. I am outraged.
FIRST THE CNN SPIN. Unless I watch the entire debate, which I haven't:
1. Richardson did not point any particular finger at anyone's "glitz". He was making a statement to the people that their decision shouldn't be based on such. Anyone assuming said finger was pointing at them is arrogant.
2. Dennis (you) was making a statement about his own voting record; I do not consider that a pot shot at the others. Not everyone on stage voted FOR it (some never had said vote) but it is a FACT Dennis is the only to vote against. I don't think anyone should have to bow to semantics of that level.
3. Gravel MAY have been outa line--but like I said I didn't watch it. Did he NAME Clinton, or did CNN just choose (via their edit) to make it seem like he did? If he didn't, he ain't outta line either; he's stating a FACT.
Calling Obama "a smart and good-looking black guy" IS outta line; none of these statements are. I disagree with CNN, the only person taking a pot shot here with this warped and so outer-space as to be on drugs truth-spinning.
SECOND THE "AFTER COMMENTS": Trivialized? "My campaign was working on it?..."
NOW you have one angry Texan.
The PEOPLE decide who is "trivialized", who is "serious", and would should be "thrown out the race"; not the candidates, not the press. Who exactly is doing the pot shots here, CNN?... well it's the arrogant bunch that thinks they know everything and think they should decide for me.
Which lost the election last time, now didn't it? Shows how smart they are. Edwards is my second to dead-last choice cuz I have yet to hear him say ANYTHING.
Hillary is dead last, actually. At least I just hate what Biden has to say; he doesn't lie on top of it. I wouldn't dress like her either. And they let her get a bad haircut early on in the Bill days. What a sheep.
I don't vote for sheep; I vote for humans.
Oh, and the Obama bit by CNN COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE!!! WTF is wrong with "notes"?!?!?! I see notes taken at every debate by SOMEONE--this is a COMPLETE POT-SHOT to "discredit" and I would personally rather vote for someone whose making a decision based on what they wrote down, versus someone simply repeating what they were told to say else just making stuff up off the top of their overly-priced bad haircuts.
Maybe some people should have been taking notes when they were "duped" into voting for an illegal war, hmmm?!
PS: I cut hair, for free. Please let your constituants know this; they need help.
Held June 28th at Howard University: It was a lot of fun watching out-of-touch tightie-whities try to pursuade a predominently black crowd they give a shit.
Cuz most of them don't.
This gave Obama an advantage off the bat; he could pull the card when he needed to ("I moved there to help the churches..."). But I agree with Gravel: I wish all debates were run this way. It was completely fair. Every candidate got the same questions, same amount of time, and who spoke first kept rotating down the line; rather than the host leading and twisting the discussion.
Watch it yourself; by IMHO, Dennis Kucinich not only held his own, he beat everyone hands down.
MY GENERAL COMMENTS
I'm not even going to discuss Edwards; he's proven again he speaks nothing but rhetoric, and isn't even good at that. IDIOT!!! I hope some homies ate him alive after this debaucle.
Will someone please tell Joe Biden he's STILL not a Democrat?!
Kucinich was the ONLY person onstage to give REAL answers to how to get anything DONE: not lip services, plans. My favorite line by Dennis Kucinich, though: "..they go out and tell people, 'Pull yourselves up by your bootstraps' and then they steal their boots."
My favorite two sections of the debate to love/hate:
AIDS
Kucinich the ONLY person with a real solution, and only person to say this rather than just "national healthcare system": "We should be able to fund all those diseases where people are suffering and they need care, but we have to end that for-profit medicine. It is time to take the for-profit insurance companies out of the business." (MAJOR applause and hoot n hollarin')
OUTSOURCING JOBS
Only two people on this stage aren't lying; Hillary isn't one of them. I nearly wretched watching this woman wiggle around words without using "NAFTA", which her own husband is responsible for. Oh, and she had to throw in the dreaded America Competes Act (see my commentary on that one...).
How does education help those who have already lost their jobs? I don't need to go back to college to learn new skills... I have too many of them already. I need higher wages for the work I do, and more opportunities for the work I don't do.
Biden's full of shit as usual--400,000 tech employees imported because "we don't fund education and need to be competitive?" Uh, I was there first-hand. Imported cuz they're CHEAPER. That and they have no concept of weekends or overtime.
The engineers they replaced were no less talented. They just wanted fair wages and healthcare. Guess they gotta find those boots Kucinich mentioned, cuz the bootstrap of education won't help them.
What all this "get healthcare off an employer's back" nonsense? Is it NOT in a company's best interest to have healthy employees?!
Anyway, the whole time she's blathering, I'm praying, "Kucinich please say NAFTA please say NAFTA please say NAFTA!" Does he disappoint me?
Kucinich: "I know what the solution is and you do too. I want to challenge my fellow candidates. One of my first acts in office will be to cancel NAFTA and the WTO and go back to trade conditioned on workers' rights, human rights and environmental quality principles. That's what we must do. A Democratic administration started NAFTA. A Democratic administration will end it." To absolute cheering no one else received.
